The OnTarget program and this website are the creation of a lone computer programmer. I have been hunting and shooting since childhood. Obsessions that developed later include, reading sci-fi novels, playing pool, and golfing. In late 2006 I joined a local rifle club and shortly thereafter added smallbore silhouette competitions to the list.

The OnTarget program was started after I did some ammunition testing and wanted to analyze the results. It seemed that with a scanner and a camera it should be possible to use my computer to accurately measure my targets. I started developing a program to do accomplish that in early 2007. The OnTarget program was first released in early 2008.

The last few years have been spent working to update the OnTarget Precision Calculator along with developing several new programs for the shooting community. 2011 promises to be an exciting year as the new version of the OnTarget Precision Calculator is released followed closely by the OnTarget ARA Scoring System and the OnTarget Target Data System.
